About a year ago, I got to spend a gorgeous afternoon with Michael and Melissa for their Early Mountain Vineyard engagement session, and it was nothing short of perfect. If you’ve never been to Early Mountain, you must. It’s an incredibly beautiful winery, with impeccable landscaping and stunning Madison, Virginia mountain views.
I sat down for coffee at Mudhouse in Charlottesville with Michael and Melissa last winter, and from the very beginning, the thing I noticed about the two of them the most was just how inviting and warm their smiles are. (I may or may not comment on Melissa’s gorgeous smile all the time – she lights up a room!! I’m not kidding!) Despite having worked the long, grueling hours of the night shift at UVA as a labor and delivery nurse and a cardiovascular thoracic ICU nurse, the two of them showed up for coffee, excited to talk about their wedding day. (Bonus points to Melissa’s excited groom. 😉 )
In mid-May last year, we spent the afternoon roaming around a small part of Early Mountain’s property, and I can say, I’m pretty excited to find my way back this weekend because their big day has come!! I absolutely love their sweet chemistry and the way they look at each other, and judging from how wonderful the two of them are, I’m excited to meet their families and friends. I can’t wait to see everything in full bloom again for them, to have the fabulous Heather Chipps Photography as my right-hand lady, and to share more of their story here on the blog soon! (Oh, and just you wait…we did Melissa’s bridal portraits at the GORGEOUS Gardens at Waterperry Farm last month, and boy is she a vision!!!! I cannot WAIT to share them with you!!!)
